Breed: SHETLAND

Believed to have developed from Nordic sheep brought by Viking settlers they are short-tailed Primitives. They are now widely dispersed throught the British Isles.

Fleece and products

Prized by handspinners, the wide range of fleece colours - from white, moorit, shaela to dark brown and black is part of this breed's appeal.
